The "showcase" of the TX-794th is it's Special Operations Team (SOT) better
known as the Drill Team. The purpose of the drill team is to represent the
corps in public events and competitions. The Cooper Drill Team has become
synonymous with the word success, having won over 150 awards over the last
6 years including a 3rd Place finish in the Color Guard Category of the Air
Force National Drill Meet in 2007 and a 4th Place finish in the same category
in 2009. Additionally, the Cooper Team Placed 6th Overall in the Unarmed
Category at the 2009 National Meet. Last year, the team set a new school
record by winning a total of ten awards at one meet when it dominated the
competition at the Texas Tech Drill Meet. Below is a brief description of each
team.
Unarmed Drill Team
The Unarmed Drill Team is a special marching unit that performs regulation
and exhibition unarmed drill
Armed Drill Team
The Armed Drill Team is a special marching unit that performs regulation and
exhibition armed drill using replica weapons.
Sabre Team
The Sabre Team is a special unit that performs regulation, exhibition and
escort drill using ceremonial sabres.
Color Guard
The Color Guard is a special marching unit that performs regulation color
guard drill and escorts the National and other colors during school sporting
events and other activities to include veteran, civic and other local groups.
Physical Fitness (PT) Team
The PT Team is a group of extremely fit cadets who dedicate their time to
fitness and competing in PT events at drill competitions.
Flag Corps
The Flag Corps is an elite group of cadets who raise and lower the flag at
school events, especially home football games. Flag Corps members also
receive and fold that flags carried onto the field by the home football games.
"Bleacher Creatures"
The "Bleacher Creatures are a group of volunteer cadets who provide
security for the school spirit groups during home football games.
